My muse tells yours they’ve suffered a miscarriage. another farewellfrancesca & Benedict
✿ FRANCESCA BRIDGERTON ✿ If anyone were ever to ask how Francesca felt moving back to the Bridgerton Estate she would lie and say it was a relief to be among family during her lowest and darkest time. Not that she didn't appreciate her family, rather, she often finds herself favouring solitude over company these days... Though she was there physically, laughing with her siblings over silly little things, her mind and soul were somewhere else. And it was exhausting to always pretend otherwise in front of everyone else.
Francesca hasn't been feeling quite herself since the day she lost whatever chances she had of being a mother. A mother to John's baby. She feared to count how long its been since she truly felt like herself; it was as though every last piece of what made her whole was taken away from her with John's passing and she was now left with only bones in her body.
Its been hours since they had breakfast, and the last thing she wanted was to be sitting here with just her brother and no one else to carry a conversation. To continue on with the deception that everything was ... just fine.
Whatever it was that managed to keep all her feelings inside was ready to give way. "Benedict," her lips moved before her mind could even think to stop it, " ... I lost the baby." She could feel the tears start to form in her eyes. Everyone in her family already knew this, she just never let the words come out of her own mouth.
As if she had just said a magical spell, she felt her soul get transported back into reality and with it came even more tears. She was starting to find it difficult to keep her cries silent. Clutching her chest as she started gasping for air in-between sobs, "John's truly gone this time, Ben... I've truly lost him, and he is never coming back..." She more tears.
