When she commanded something be done, she expected her command fulfilled in a rather timely manner. Now with such expectations -- difficult ones to meet -- came exaggeration and the mere perception of time. To some, a couple of days may not seem like a long time but to the Queen . . . it felt like an eternity. Especially considering the task she had demanded of someone. The results were imperative and so, the Queen felt as if she had been waiting long enough. She had tasked the young Bridgerton girl of finding Lady Whistledown and uncovering her true identity. Two days had passed since she appointed her with the task. And now, came another event; another luncheon and thus . . . another opportunity to be updated on the girl's findings. Shooing -- quite literally -- everyone from her private tent, the Queen summoned the girl and rolled her eyes when needing to wait two moments too long. When the girl was ushered in, the Queen looked at, annoyance upon her features. "I've been waiting a long time for you." Two entire days of gut-wrenching curiosity for it was two more days that the fiend got away with her treacherous scribblings. Gesturing for Eloise to come closer, the Queen's expression shifted from annoyance to curiosity and expectancy. "Now what have you uncovered since our last conversation." While she had been one among the many suspects, the Queen had not given her second thought. She had believed the Featherington girls to be far too dim to create such a character as Whistledown and not bold enough to write such things. Clearly, the queen had underestimated all but one. And she, would pay for her crimes. It was not yet publicly announced yet there were few privy to this information. One such, being one of the Bridgerton girls. Charlotte once believed Eloise to be Whistledown yet that suspicion was clearly squashed when the gossip monger had written negatively Eloise. But now, it all made sense. It all came together.
Yet the Bridgerton girl continued to surprise her for she came to appeal for her friend. To ask for her pardon, and for the queen to not harm her for her actions. The queen was even considering having her hanged for treason as she spoke so ill about her majesty. Why was Eloise defending such a woman? They were friends perhaps but no. It had to be something more. And that was when she saw it. The Queen saw this emotion behind the girl's eyes. One that transcended mere affection for a friend. It was something deeper. Something . . . familiar. For the queen had once felt this for her husband when he was of a lucid mind. So behind that fear, worry, and plea . . . came an all too familiar expression, which was why the Queen spoke the words that she did in realization and acknowledgement. "Oh my God. You're in love with her."

He seems like such a sassy guy and I could see him as being the Queen's confidante. A true and dear friend of hers, despite him being a butler. One she entrusts with many secrets. We have a lot of creative freedom to explore their dynamic. Perhaps his family has been serving the Crown for generations, or maybe they took him in when he was a young boy, the possibilities are endless! This after all, was all matters that her dear George would have taken care of. But she was now the face of the Royal family . . . unable to risk confirmation of the king's unstable mind. Particularly to their enemies . . . now allies. She watched the young man approach, stepping toward where she was seated upon the throne.
He was young. Handsome. Unmarried. Interesting indeed. She kept her eyes upon him, giving a nod of greeting as Brimsley lifted the cover of the box to reveal the emerald necklace. Her eyebrow ever so slightly raised as she turned to look at their guest. "A gift well received," she approved. Brimsley prompted handed off the gift to be added to her collection. "How fared your journey to our land?" She asked. Pleasantries of course. Obligatory inquiries for he was their guest . . . and as such, would be treated with the due respect.

I've forgotten what it's like to feel young." The Queen was in a rather good mood today as was in attendance at one of the season's events. Couples were starting to position themselves to prepare for a waltz which was one of Charlotte's most favourite dances. Once to engage in, now only to spectate. A genuine smile was upon her lips as she watched with enjoyment at each of the duos, taking note of which were able to perform the dance better than others. It was such an elegant and graceful dance. Not an easy one to learn and an even more difficult one to master. But some had impeccable footwork and that, was by the queen's standards. Standing next to the Duke of Lancaster among others, Charlotte could not resist the comment she was about to make as the waltz did indeed hold fond memories for her. Back when she used to dance with different men, before finding her husband and then sharing most of her dances with him. "I've forgotten what it's like to feel young." She said lightly, though there was indeed depth to her words as well. Tearing her eyes off of the sight before her she looked to the Duke. "Do you not enjoy this dance?" ♚ your queen commands it ♚ NOTES: NONE! The Queen did not fail to notice that instead of disposing of the picture, the princess put it back into her purse. She would need to get rid of it if that man would not become her husband. She explained that they met on her birthday, elaborating that they were amicable but not romantic. "Then why pray tell, do you carry around a portrait of him?" She questioned. "One does not do that for simply a friend." She disbelieved her granddaughter's explanation to an extent. The queen after all, was once a young woman too . . . as long ago as that may have been. When the princess then said that she only just remembered that Friedrich was her uncle and how often that happened, the queen looked at her with a slightly raised eyebrow and a look on her face.
"You just remembered?" She said with a bit of judgement in her voice. "Child, have you not properly learned of your family lineage?" Of all the kings, queens, princesses, princes, and everyone else in between that created a large family tree. With a bit of a scoff she shook her head. "You are most fortunate that he is a young handsome man." Because, as Lottie recently thought of . . . she was once a young woman. And any young woman wished to marry a handsome man. "So I ask again--" Which Charlotte did not like doing but because the princess was her granddaughter, she would repeat herself. "What is wrong with Friedrich that causes you to reject him as a suitor?" Once again, there was no right answer to this question other than nothing for that was the only acceptable response.
