i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony was doing all that he could to pay attention to his wife's words, but this . . . odd discomfort was growing. She was speaking of planting flowers -- a topic that he had brought up yet now was struggling to maintain, and spoke of wanting to find ones to compliment the flowers so not to ruin his mother's work. "I highly doubt you could ruin it," he assured her. He quite enjoyed the garden, his knowledge of plants and flowers sign of that. Though it was not something he advertised about himself. And it certainly was not what his mind was resting on now.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ She then told him that he was the first one who had ever brought her flowers. The revelation both honored him and angered him. Honored, because well, what man would not feel honored over such a thing. But angered him . . . in that so many others failed so miserably in seeing how beautiful Kate was. "Men are fools," he grumbled, slightly loosening his cravat. "And while their foolishness worked in my favor of being given such an honor . . . they still remain utter fools." He made the mistake of looking at her and . . . she was so, damned beautiful.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Her body was rested against him and . . . oh dear. His own body was starting to stir with desire. He let out a heavy breath, suddenly needing nothing more than . . . her. And was doing all that he could to distract such thoughts. So instead, he looked to the vendor near them; an old man. Yes. Good. Perfect. Perhaps if Anthony looked long and hard -- wrong word choice -- at him, then it would cause his building need to wane. This was not something Anthony often did but as they were out in public . . . it did seem necessary under the circumstances.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony did not fail to notice her composure. All too aware of every movement of her body and in this case, the lack there of. It only made him smile through the case, taking it was further challenge to make her squirm and writhe with both pleasure and need for more. Parting his lips from hers, he kissed down the column of her neck, moving to her collar bone, lower on her chest. It had been far too long since he had enjoyed the taste of her breast, but instead, he only teased the area a little, flicking his tongue over her tip before he forced himself to part and move lower down her body.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Lower still, kissing his way down until he reached her center. He paused there, lips hovering over it as he blew her heated core for a moment, before lowering his lips to close the distance and kissing the area. She had told him that she felt no pain from their previous actions so he intended to give some attention to her here . . . and see just how composed she could lay without tugging at the fabric. Letting his kisses linger, he slowly began to suck the area, his tongue slipping between the folds of her skin, as his hands went to either of her thighs, gently spreading them to open herself up more and thus, grant him further access as he worked his mouth over her.

Tag: L Note: Better layout coming soon! it is my duty I AM PROTECTING YOU Anthony wasn't sure if he felt relieved or disappointed when she told him that there was no one. Relieved, because it meant that he did not yet have to drill the man nor proclaim his shortcomings and thus, reveal why he was not good enough for her. Disappointed, because it meant he could not prepare himself to drill nor proclaim the man's shortcomings and thus, reveal why he was not good enough for her.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Really, both outcomes were the same despite the conflicting reaction. She added on that perhaps after tonight, she would develop an interest in one -- or two -- men and Anthony knew of course that was a possibility. "Well then, let us hope you will not be disappointed." If this was what she wanted . . . well, all Anthony ever wanted was for his brothers and sisters to be happy. To find happiness, even if his actions did not suggest as much. He felt it within his heart, the longing for his family to be nothing less than happy.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU The day had been rather busy. He was playing host to the Sharma family, and with that . . . came challenges of its own. No. One particular challenge: Katherine Sharma. She was infuriating, and certainly would not make this journey to proposing to Edwina a simple one. Well, it was not the difficulty of actually proposing to her but rather, ensuring Edwina would accept his proposal. For with that, needed to come Kate's approval. And Kate, had made it quite clear early on that she would not allow him to marry her younger sister. Fortunately, he seemed to be winning Mary's favor and even Edwina's -- without the risk of any deep emotional attachment -- but Kate. She was proving to be rather stubborn about it.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The day had drawn to an end and everyone had retired to their rooms for the night. Anthony however could not sleep. Whether it was the meddlesome woman on his mind -- something he did not care to admit -- or deeper troubling thoughts, sleep eluded him and so he decided to make himself product and spend some time in his study, collecting some papers and books he wished to take back to London to his main study -- his father's study. But before he entered, he saw sign of candlelight coming from the room, curiosity rising within him.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ None of the servants went in without his presence or permission and no one else would dare enter it. The door was open and he went to stand in the doorframe, the woman before him unmistakable even if he only saw her from behind. He just watched her for a few moments, his own candle in hand as she rummaged through his things. This woman would be the death of him. "What the hell are you doing?" He demanded, not even bothering to keep the curse from his tone as he stepped inside the room.

I will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony looked at her with quiet contemplation as she answered the question directly, though not first without teasing a little, saying that they certainly had tried hard enough and it shouldn't come as a surprise. That much was true. The lack of children in the past several years had not been due to lack of trying. He had merely thought at a certain point that . . . there would be no more children. And while it made him no less thrilled for the news now, it was certainly a surprise. He watched as she took his hand, tenderly kissing it before moving it to her stomach to rest there.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Four children." His eyes remained on her stomach that would once again grow with child, before slowly moving his gaze to meet her eyes. Silence lingered though he knew there was emotion in his expression. "Four children," he repeated, the joy there in his voice only recognized by those who truly knew him. For truth was, upon such news that drew deep emotion . . . his reactions were sometimes stronger in silence than through words.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Each time he had held their child for the first time, it had always drawn the same reaction in the Viscount: tears of pure joy. He leaned forward, touching her lips with his own in a gentle kiss, but one that let some of emotions enter. His mind was still processing this news, the excitement of another child slowly growing within him. Eventually easing out of it, his lips curved back into a soft smile, resting his forehead against hers. "My mother was your age when she carried Hyacinth." The similarity bringing his mind to ease that he need not worry about being too advanced in age.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Anthony watched as she crawled out from under the desk, as she explained that it was an accident. His expression held his disbelief in her statement, having every intention of tormenting her for it. For this. "An accident," he repeated, mockery in his tone. "So, you accidentally sneaked into my study and then accidentally crawled under my desk to accidentally hide from me." And the woman I brought in was the unspoken addition to that statement.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ His tone purposely made the entire thing sound so ridiculously far from an accident. "I fail to see how any of what you did was accidental. So perhaps I should rephrase my question." Oh yes. He had the upper-hand here and he was thoroughly planning on using it. "What are you doing in here?" In his study, as he had made it abundantly clear in his earlier statement.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU While Anthony knew that marriage to Kate was indeed a dangerous thing, that hardly kept him from enjoying the pleasures that came with it. After all the pent up dreams and desires he had for her . . . he was now able to bring them to life. Make them a reality. And the enjoyment that came with that, was incomparable. They were enjoying time away from London during their honeymoon period, and the lack of distractions around them . . . allowed the newlyweds to thoroughly enjoy the rights and pleasures that came with marriage life.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The current room they were in was the largest offered, as he wanted to spoil Kate and provide her with nothing less than the best. Once the arrangements were set, he was eager to return to the room, opening it but not seeing her anywhere in immediate sight. Removing his boots for further comfort, he looked around, finally catching sight of her from behind as she was stepping into the tub. A smile crept upon his lips, as he just watched her for a moment, his eyes moving over her perfect, sensual figure. He was one who hardly possessed the restraint to not act and so silently approached it, and by the time she had stepped both her feet in the tub, he wrapped his arms around her in surprise.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ His grip was firm enough to ensure she would not slip from the unexpected embrace, and he smiled when she turned her head, saying his name. "Were you expecting someone else?" He asked playfully, his lips moving to kiss her neck, moving up her jawline. "The answer to that had better be no," he further teased, though with a bit of truth to it. Though, he knew she would not be unfaithful of course. Hardly giving her a moment to answer, as his lips found hers and kissed her . . . the short time spent apart having felt far too long.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Oh how he was thoroughly enjoying the scene before him. Watching Kate scramble to find the mallet was truly a sight . . . mainly because he knew she would not find here. That, and he was rather enjoying the view it presented when she was leaned over, digging around in some area for it. The smugness and pleasure it brought to the Viscount was what prompted him to remain quiet and watchful . . . until she finally seemed distracted from the task enough to notice his presence. Shame. But he knew that his silent spectating ways would only last so long. After all, Kate was far too sharp to be spied on for long.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Long enough to enjoy witnessing your failure," he said teasingly, for she certainly would have already deduced by now that his calm demeanor indicated he was unafraid of her finding it here. Because it was not here. Her second question however, kept the smug and arrogant smile as she questioned whether he bribed their son. "You can ask him yourself," Anthony said, not about to make it any easier for her. Truth was, he did not tell anyone where he hid the mallet this year. It was knowledge only he held in mind. "Far be it from me to interfere with your investigate journey." He did not even bother to attempt to hide the smugness as he stepped into the room, an amused smile upon his lips.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU If only there was a way to burn out the parts of ones mind that one wished to forever forget. For if they did not . . . it would instead, forever scar them. And unfortunately, that was exactly what had happened to Anthony Bridgerton. His objections to Simon and Daphne's union -- specifically the entire courting process -- was no secret. He had however, come to accept their marriage, only to be at odds with the man once more when he had clearly done something to cause a rift between them. It had taken effort on both their parts, but they were finally reaching a place where all that was in the past. They were not family after all. Today, they had arrived at his estate, the need for two carriages to hold all the Bridgertons, and their luggage.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ Though Anthony believed that the carriage carried more gifts for the first of the next generation Bridgerton son, than their luggage. Never the matter, for the point was that they were here. While others were being shown to their rooms, Anthony took it upon himself to properly greet the Duke and Duchess, being informed by Rose that they were in the library. How he wished he had joined the rest of his family rather than trying to be a decent guest. For when he pushed open the doors, and saw what he did . . . his eyes widened in the horror and he quickly spun around and slammed the door shut. Yes. A most scarring mental image indeed.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He immediately went to his room, refusing to see anyone else until he gathered himself properly. Hearing Simon eventually come to his door however, caused Anthony to slightly stiffen, straightening his posture as he turned to look at the man. "Hastings." His tone was flat, his expression holding that typical look that Anthony often held to silence or made his anger known. While he knew there was of course nothing wrong with a husband pleasuring his wife . . . it was his sister that he witnessed being pleasured and that, made the entire scene rather unsettling to witness. "Yes, my timing does seem to be impeccable." The tone somewhat sarcastic.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU My muse shows up on your muse’s doorstep after several months of being missing, with no memory of the past few years.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖
It was finally time to return to London. To return home. Anthony had spent the last several months both lost and recovering from the grueling aftermath of the storm that sent their ship at sea in ruin. He woke up on the shore of somewhere, attempting to navigate himself but everything was such a blur. He was eventually found by a kind couple who took him in and practically nursed him back to health. Broken bones, weakened state . . . he was fairly certain he would have died had it not been for their hospitality. He remembered nothing when he first awoke but slowly, memories started to return to him. Simple things, like his name, his family, his home. So when he was finally physically able, he made the long journey home to London. He had been in the middle of nowhere it seemed, having been absent from any news that came from the city of his home. And as he drew nearer to London, he found himself having little care for being up to date with current events.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ It was too overwhelming. All of this was. His memory was returning bit by bit, but adding to his already overwhelmed and weary state would do nothing to help the process of his healing. He was merely eager to return home to his mother and siblings, knowing that they must be worried. And yet . . . he hated to admit that he was not even entirely sure he had arrived at the right house. It was perhaps why he had not sent a letter to them to inform them that he was alive and returning. He was doubtful, of everything. But once he stepped in front of the estate, the familiarity of it caused his heart to swell, and force him to fight back tears. Yes. This was his home. Taking a slow breath, he walked up the steps, pausing only to contemplate whether to knock or simply step inside. The latter won, and he pushed open the door, entering into the hallway. The moment he did, the eyes of the butler and a worker passing by, moved and stayed to him.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ They froze in place, their eyes widened in pure shock. Anthony knew that he was not dressed as he normally was. He was in clothes that would indicate to any other that he was a commoner, not a nobleman. His hair was slightly longer from the top rather than from the sides, though he had made the effort to shave . . . knowing that there had to be some pride in his appearance. Some element of recognizability. No one was saying anything. Not even Anthony. And then finally, a sound pierced the air. A maid had entered the scene with a tray of empty plates and glasses, and once she lay sight to him, she too froze, eyes widened, the tray falling from her grasp as the dishes shattered to the floor. The only thing louder than the smashing of the dishes echoing in the otherwise silent hall, was her high pitched scream as it too filled the air.

Tag: Stefan Johann Habsburg & Tobias Frederik Note: Couldn't decide who to bring in so I just went with Anthony! Also, I wasn't sure how to bring him in so I hope this is ok! Let me know if you'd like me to edit anything! i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU The Bridgerton family had received an invitation from the Count to attend one of his events. Of course, Violet was elated by this for any social gathering brought forth the means for her to play her role as matchmaker. Or at least, eager to make introductions and ensure her sons met eligible young woman. Anthony knew it was a difficult situation to avoid so he merely embraced it without commitment. Smiling politely, making conversation where necessary.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ His second brother was already dodging most of the eager mamas, and Anthony was subtly placing more and more considerable distance between himself and his mother. Fortunately, she was chatting with a few other women, and as Anthony's eyes scanned the crowd, they landed upon their host in the company of one other man. Now would be a most excellent time to thank him for it was of course the respectful thing to do and the opportunity to do so may not arise later on. Though Anthony had not met the man in his company, everyone of course knew who he was. The ton had been filled with excited whispers about the Prince being among them. Joining the two men, Anthony gave a small smile.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ "Your highness," he said to Tobias, lowering his head a little out of respect. "Lord Habsburg," he said looking towards Stefan. His gaze then went between the two. "I hope I am not interrupting. I came over to thank the gracious host for a most splendid event." His eyes remained on Stefan as he was the one Anthony was addressing at the time. Though while he knew the Prince, he also realized that the Prince might not know him. His gaze then went to the royal. "I am Lord Anthony Bridgerton," he introduced.

i will ALWAYS PROTECT YOU Seeing her enter was precisely why he knew he could not continue on his set path. Seeing her so often, while being wed to her sister was far too . . . conflicting. And while he could never offer his love to a wife, he even knew that Edwina deserved far better than that. As did Kate. Hearing that Mary and Edwina were not home was both a relief and disappointment. He supposed it was best he speak to Kate; after all, she was the one he had spoken of his intentions to.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ The ton could speculate on the Viscount's intentions, but as he had made no formal declaration or public intention to propose . . . that was all it would remain to be: speculation. But with Kate, he had made his intentions very clear and so, he supposed from that logical standpoint, it would make the most sense to speak to her about this. "That is quite alright.," he said, knowing he could not return tomorrow without making his purpose today known. Plus, he knew he had come unannounced and without plan. "I suppose it is best I speak to you about this." Motioning for her to have a seat, he waited until she did so before sitting down himself.
❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ He was not one to beat around the bush, and knew that in this instance, he needed to be direct and to the point. Yet, it was for some reason . . . difficult to say. Not because he doubted his decision, but rather, because of the reasons behind it. The silence lingered for a few moments before he finally brought his thoughts to voice, his eyes going to hers as he spoke. "I will not be proposing to your sister." Ironic indeed. For as soon as she had granted him permission, he no longer wished to pursue it.
